TAU 2.12.7 (p690)

TAU 2.12.7 is now available on Copper.  This release adds 64-bit
mode support and also updates the Program Database Toolkit (PDT)
to version 2.2.  It has also been updated to work with the
new PAPI 2.4.3.2 POWER4 release.

To pick up the new release, set TAUROOT to:

/usr/apps/tools/tau/tau-2.12.7

Here are some comments from Sameer Shende, of the TAU development
team, that are of interest:

> Also, we feature callpath profiling (-PROFILECALLPATH configuration
> option) with user specified callpath depth (by setting TAU_CALLPATH_DEPTH
> env. variable). The LLNL users find this useful to track calling order.
> However, the cost of maintaining the callpath at runtime can be an issue,
> so we've not made it a default configuration option in installtau.
