bursty traffic created by iperf on solaris 10
Hi,
we are observing uneven, bursty traffic created by iperf running as a
client on a sunfire V240 with solaris 5.10. The non-uniformity can even
be seen visually when we watch the LED on either the server or the
connected router. No problem at all was found, when we connected a
windows PC to the same line and ran the windows version of iperf against
the same iperf server. We could not find anything wrong in the sun
server's interface config, its full-duplex 100 Mbit (at least ndd
/dev/bge0 link_duplex indicates that).
We ran iperf 2.0.2 with the following client parameters:
iperf -c <server> -u -l 64 -w 218k -b 2M
Any idea what could be the root cause of the problem or what we could
investigate next?
best regards
Andreas
