central loss, send failure

I haven't checked the beacon in a while ...

I just noticed that my 1.3 client was spitting out messages like

send() on closed socket GEN1728 at /usr/local/bin/beacon line 2851.
send from client failed
send() on closed socket GEN1728 at /usr/local/bin/beacon line 2908.
client not defined

- I have just restarted it. The messages seem to still be coming.

I also noticed that the central loss page
http://beacon2.ncsa.uiuc.edu/central_loss.html
is showing no data

Is something odd going on ?
