Tried to do this on redhat linux - got
[root@hendrix src]# ./beacon
Can't locate Time/HiRes.pm in @INC (@INC contains:

./beacon line 33.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./beacon line 33.
Also
[root@hendrix src]# locate Beacon.pm
[root@hendrix src]# locate /HiRes.pm
[root@hendrix src]# locate HiRes.pm
[root@hendrix src]#
So there seems to be something wrong with the install step.
