Subject: [AG-TECH] RESULTS of survey on using multicast for the Access
Grid are NOW AVAILABLE
I was curious to know how many people are able to use multicast for
joining Access Grid sessions. So I created a simple 1-question survey
that asked how often you are able to connect to AG sessions using
multicast.
The main finding is that 75% of the responders (91 AG users) reported
that they are able to use multicasting for their sessions all or most of
the time. Only 20% of the participants report never or usually not being
able to use multicasting. There were problems reported with
multicasting, however, and differing attitudes towards the use of
unicast bridges.
I have prepared a web page describing all the results:

Please have a look and discuss if you wish.
