Unicast version of beacon ?

I wondered if there was a unicast version of the beacon ?

I know this seems trivial and perhaps a bit silly, but
the beacon presentation format is nice, it automatically expands
to show all connected machines etc. etc.

I have written things in the past to show recent history of "can X see
A,B,C", and smokeping does this nicely. The SLAC PingER project did "how
well can X see A,B,C" and "how well does Y see A,B,C" with drop-down
menus but there's not the instant matrix of "can A-Z see A-Z ?" that you
get in the beacon.
