Suppressing (or summarising) beacon miss-match messages

We recently upgraded to beacon 1.3 however some groups using our beacon
server persist in using beacon 1.1 hence we get a lot of messages:

Dec 8 09:32:56 teevee beacon[2947]: Receive tossing
"beaconserver.grangenet.net|233.70.142.1|10002|1.1"
Dec 8 09:33:53 teevee beacon[2947]: Receive tossing
"beaconserver.grangenet.net|233.70.142.1|10002|1.1"
Dec 8 09:34:56 teevee beacon[2947]: Receive tossing
"beaconserver.grangenet.net|233.70.142.1|10002|1.1"

Has any thought been given to either silently discarding these errors or
at a minimum summarising them periodically.

Also, without the source address being displayed the message as it
stands is virtually useless.

I don't mind doing the work - but am curious as to what functionality
the community desires.

thanks,

   -Greg
