Re: Beacon 1.3 released
Hi, Derek -- Good question.
We're chasing a bug right now in the TCP connection code that causes the
use of a CNAME entry to throw an error. For now, you need to use the
actual real name of the Central Server you're reporting to when you set up
beacon.conf.
So for now, that means you need to use "jhereg.ncsa.uiuc.edu". Jhereg will
remain the Central Server from now on, so you won't have to change it
later, although we do hope to have a patch out for this bug shortly,
allowing the use of CNAMES later.
