Let me clarify that a little, now that I've read it again.  ;-)

The Central Beacon Server ignores all but the *current* version of Beacon
traffic being reported to it.  Right now that's v1.0.  

The subservsions don't actually count for that check --  So v1.0-0 would be
considered the same version as v1.0-999, if it ever got that far.
