Neutron Collision: Caption and Credits
3D head-on collision of two Neutron Stars.
Charles Evans, now at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, used a Cray
X-MP supercomputer at NCSA in 1986 to simulate this cosmic collision.
The colored streaks represent the trajectories of
selected particles of stellar material.
