Galactic Odyssey Movie: text

Quark Soup

This movie depicts the particle interactions in the universe when it was a mere 10^-36 seconds old. The temperature is 10^28 degrees Kelvin.

Quarks are shown by the solid red, green and white spheres; antiquarks are shown as open spheres with corresponding colors. Quark, antiquark collisions release energy in the form of photons. Upon colliding, these photons in turn spawn new matter-antimatt er particle pairs.

In this young, hot, dense universe, matter, antimatter and radiation exist in more-or-less equal amounts.
