Sgr A West: 6 centimeter image; VLA. Caption, Credit and Copyright

Sgr A West, a spiral-like pattern of thermal ionized gas that appears to be falling into the very center of the galaxy. Near its center is Sgr A*, a point-like radio source that many suspect is the nucleus of the Milky Way and indicates the presence of a black hole.
